A Day in Mommy's and Cupcake's Life

I love spending time with lil' mini every day and all of our adventures we have! So I figured I would share our adventures and what we do in a typical day...

Our day starts with waking up and getting ready for the day with hubby. We always make sure cupcake is dressed in an oober cute outfit that sometimes may just consist of a onsie (depending on how warm it is outside). We next have some yummy breakfast, which is then followed by play time. Play time usually consists of either making funny faces playing on the jungle play mat, reading a story and of course lots of smiles (cupcake is smiling more and more ever day and it is the cutest thing ever!). After play time we have nap time for sleeping beauty and hubsy and I will either scramble around to get things done around the house (type a blog of get on Facebook) or the more common choice, take a nap too! We repeat the process of eating, play time and napping about 6-7 times a day for cupcake, along with changing poopy and pee pee diapers. For bed time we give our little fishy a bath (which she absolutely loves!) and then get her ready for bed and sweet dreams.

Of course each day is different from the next and cupcake always shows us her new tricks she has. My favorite part of the day is when she is in between being awake and asleep and she starts to laugh and smile. It always makes hubby and I laugh and smile too :) We love our little cutie and our daily adventures!

Lots of hugs and baby love,

Mackenzie

Brooklyn is 1 Month Old!

I thought I would take the time while the little miss is sleeping to share how she is doing!

Wow how time flys! It feels like yesterday when I was only 5 months pregnant with our little bundle and now she is a month old! She has changed so much within this past month and is growing every day. She is starting to smile, laugh and talk baby babble, which is the cutest thing ever! We love every second with her, giving her tons of kisses, making funny faces, reading stories and watching her grow into a little lady :) Each day brings a new adventure with her, and of course what feels like a bajillion dirty diapers! I wake up every day wondering what new and cute things she will do that will melt our hearts!

The amount of love we have for her is unexplainable and grows every second. We feel beyond blessed to have her in our lives and can't thank our Heavenly Father enough for our beautiful and wonderful gift :)

Lots of hugs and baby smiles,
Mackenzie

Baby Brooklyn Eve Tennant is here!!!!

It all started on Friday July 1, 2011...Chase and I went to our Dr's appointment in the morning for a non-stress test. While at the doctor's they decided to do an ultrasound as well to check the fluid around the baby. When they checked it, the doctor said that there wasn't as much fluid around her as they would like to see. They said for us to be as the hospital by 1 pm to have me get induced. They started the pitocin around 3 pm. When I was first admitted into the hospital I was only dilated to a 2 and 80% effaced. After about 5 hrs of pitocin I had gone to 4 cm and completely effaced. I had wanted to try and go all natural with the birth so the only pain meds that I received were IV meds that only last an hour at a time. Well an hour and a half after I got the pain meds, I had gone from 4 cm to 9 cm!! And about 10 minutes after I was at a 10 and ready to start pushing!! After almost 2 hours of pushing, our little bundle of joy was born at 12:15 am on July 2, 2011! She weighed 8 lbs 5 oz and was 20.5 in long! She has been such a joy and is a true blessing in our lives! She is happy and healthy and makes us smile and laugh daily! We love her with all of our hearts and couldn't be happier with how amazing she is! We will keep updating about our fun adventures together, so stay tuned to hear and see more updates!!

Love,

Mackenzie, Chase and Brooklyn

Playing the Waiting Game...

Hooray! it's less than two weeks until my due date, yay!! We can't wait for our little cupcake to get here! The past 9 months (since pregnancy should really be considered 10 months because 40 weeks really adds up to be 10 months....it's simple math) have gone by pretty fast, but this last month has almost felt like I've been going in reverse. I guess it is because of the anticipation of having the baby here soon. On the plus side with time feeling like it's going by slowly, we've been able to get the last details set up for her arrival (Chase is currently putting together Brooklyn's bassinet as I type!) He's been such a huge help with everything and has seemed to be getting into "daddy" mode lately :)

If you're interested in how I'm currently feeling I would be happy to share...I feel like an oompa loompa (minus the orange face and green hair, I would be more of a casper version of an oompa loompa). I have so desperately tried to prevent myself from developing the pregnant woman waddle. So far it has been a success but, I have slowly started to see it creep up one day at a time. Thankfully it has been great weather here the past few days. Last weeks heat wave plus humidity was not fun at all! I would puff up like a balloon within 0.5 seconds of stepping outside! Yea, it was pretty unpleasant. Other than that, I've been feeling great! Each doctor's appointment we go to, they say that I am right were I should be as far a dilation and effacement goes and that little cupcake is healthy :)

As of now, we have yet to have Chase write about anything on the blog so we'll now dedicate this time to him and his thoughts :)

Well writing in this blog isn't really my thing, but I will to make my baby happy. Things have been crazy these past few weeks getting everything ready for Brooklyn to come, and we are still frantically trying to get stuff done. It seems like there is always something else to do/buy/make. Regardless of all the "grief" it is still an adventure in and of itself , and there is no one else in the world I'd rather have by my side through it all than Mackenzie. She has been wonderful (and yes, very moody at times), and will be an awesome mother. Anyways, that's all I have to say...I'm sad the NBA season is over for now since there is nothing but baseball on ESPN, and no one likes baseball season while watching Sports Center. On that note, Brooklyn will be daddy's little girl and will love watching ballgames with me :).

Hope everyone enjoyed our update!!

Huge Hugs,

Bellies and What's Currently on My Mind

Little babes are a true miracle and blessing from Heavenly Father that fill our lives with joy!! As of today, we have less than 5 weeks until my due date!! Yikes! (but a good yikes) The pregnancy has gone by so fast and I'm so excited to meet our little cupcake and see her cute little face with her teeny tiny nose and chubby cheeks! I always day dream about spending time with her and my hubby as our own little family. I know Chase will be an amazing father and I can't wait to see him hold her for the first time. I love my hubby...he is my best friend and I am so grateful for everything he does for our family.

On another note.....We had our belly photo shoot!!! It was a lot of fun! Melissa LaRue was our photographer and she will also be taking the newborn photos of cupcake. She was awesome and we are excited to work with her again! Here is a photo from our session!! It was a perfect day outside!!

Until next time....Huge hugs from Mackenzie and cutie cupcake!

Cupcake Update!

Our little cupcake is about 8 weeks away from being here!! Today we had a 3D ultrasound to see what she looks like!!! It's hard to believe that she started out so tiny and has grown so much. She was being a little stubborn today with the ultrasound (it took a lot of poking to get her to move her hands and legs away from her face). But we got some cute pictures! Maybe we are biased but we think she's the most beautiful baby ever! Here are her pictures...we'll start from the beginning...

Cupcake at 9 weeks

Cupcake at 19 weeks

Cupcake at 31 and a half weeks!
We are so excited to meet our little girl and finally hold her and give her tons of hugs and kisses! We hope you enjoyed hearing about cupcake's update and enjoy seeing what she looks like!

Our First Blog Post!!

So, here it goes....I finally caved in and decided to start a blog for our little family! I constantly see other's awesome blogs and all the great stuff they share with friends and family and I figured I needed to do the same! I guess we'll start off by sharing a little bit about us and our life as of now! We have been happily married since July 15, 2010. We got sealed for time and all eternity in the Detroit LDS Temple. It was an amazing day and each day after has been wonderful! Chase is a student at U of M (he will graduate next spring) and works at yummy Whole Foods Market! I am in massage therapy school and will be getting my certification by next March! We are currently expecting our first child! We are having a little girl :) I am (as of today) 31 weeks and 1 day preggo. Our check-up today went great and our little cupcake is growing strong and healthy! We can't wait to meet her! When we're not talking to cupcake or feeling her little wiggles and kicks, we are spending time together and loving every second! I guess that's it for now, we hope that you enjoy seeing what's going on with our family adventures!
